Our Story

It all started when our co-founder Alex was looking for an affordable used car to buy online. He was so frustrated with the way car dealers treated him by giving him an over-priced used car, only for the vehicle to break down after 3-days of purchase.

It turns out Stanley who is also co-founder had a similar & ugly experiences in the open markets(classified ads) space as well - their prices were inaccurate and even most sellers never showed up for appointments as well.

So, they both set out to solve the challenges that Nigerians and Africans face at large in the used car marketplace. Hence, Carhia was born.

However, As we developed Carhia, we realized that users operating on open market faced the same challenges which is why we created Spicyauto as a spin-off of Carhia to solved the challenges.

Our goal as a company is to create a community of serious buyers and trust worthy sellers while providing a stellar atmosphere for communicating and educating our sellers on how best they can sell their car.
